CD News: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR’s ‘San’

With their new single about to hit music stores on the 24th, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR will be releasing their third full-length album “San” on 21 February 2007. The album will feature the singles to “DIVE into YOURSELF” (it’s called the “YOUR VOICE Version” because it includes a chorus made up of their fans), “Enrai ~Tooku ni Aru Akari~”, “Tadoritsuku Basho” and “Okizarisu”. We’ll be able to buy a CD+DVD version (SECL-481-482) and/or a CD-only version (SECL-483) for ¥3,500 and ¥3,059 respectively. The band’s debut album, “G∞VER” (SECL-217), is available at Tofu Records (for US domestic distribution) for US $16.98. Tofu Records didn’t pick up the band’s second album “Gou On Progressive” (SECL-366) so it remains to be seen if they’ll have “San” for sale domestically in the US.
CD News: URURU’s ‘Nankuru Naisa’

URURU, a trio from Okinawa who won the Okinawa Taikai award for the Asahi TV show “Street Fighter” in 2002, will be releasing their debut major label single “Nankuru Naisa” (UPCH-5441, ¥1,260) on 24 January 2007 and will have a total of four tracks. From the literature on their website, it looks like they’re an acoustic outfit with instruments ranging from perscussion, sanshin and guitar. (Via JPop News.)
CD News: Beni Arashiro’s 3rd album in March

Staying true to the “release one (or more) album(s) per year” routine of record labels in Japan, Beni Arashiro will release her third (as yet untitled) album on 21 March 2007. According to Beni’s listing on cdjapan.co.jp, there will be a first-pressing release with a CD+DVD (AVCD-23219) and a the regular release with the CD-only (AVCD-23220). Both albums will have a total of 11 tracks with the DVD expected to contain two PVs for the singles “How Are U” and “Luna”, her latest song.

CD News: Takako Uehara’s ‘Best Album’

We haven’t seen or heard anything big from Takako Uehara (ex-SPEED) since her last single, 2004’s “Galaxy Legend / Ladybug” (AVCD-16052). And, in a way, although she has an album coming out on 14 March 2007, it’ll be a “Best of” album instead of a new original album (which I suppose if forthcoming). Not sure what to think of this either when you take into consideration that Takako’s last album “Pupa” (2003, AVCD-16035) was her second album release! Two albums under your belt (we’re talking her solo stuff here) and a “Best of” album? Kinda makes you wonder if Avex is throwing this out as a way of saying that yes, Takako’s still around huh? Anyway, getting back to this album, there will be two versions released: 1) CD+DVD AVCD-16119 and 2) a CD-only one AVCD-16120.
